How We Apply Our Principles
Policies & Standard Operating Procedures
Our forest and project operations are supported by documented policies, standard operating procedures, approval workflows and field records. These provide clear guidance for site preparation, harvesting, transportation, safety, environmental controls, restoration and reporting.
Licensing & Regulatory Requirements
Project activities are carried out within approved operating areas and subject to relevant licences, permits, boundaries and government approvals. Operational documentation supports accountability and compliance throughout each project.
Environmental & Social Management
Environmental and social considerations are incorporated into project planning and implementation, including terrain and boundary assessment, impact controls, community engagement, replanting, restoration and project monitoring.
MC&I & PEFC-Focused Compliance
Layang Kaji is working towards forest-management practices aligned with MC&I and PEFC requirements. MC&I audit activities are currently in progress for the Kenaboi and Ulu Slim project areas, as stated in the latest company profile.
GIS, LiDAR & Field Monitoring
GIS, LiDAR, aerial imagery, mapping and field measurements support boundary verification, terrain assessment, operational planning, progress monitoring and reporting. This strengthens oversight and informed decision-making.
Stakeholder & Community Engagement
We engage government agencies, local communities, Orang Asli representatives and project stakeholders before and during relevant activities. Engagement may include town halls, access discussions, correspondence, complaint documentation and community programmes.
Fair Compensation Process
Where compensation is required, Layang Kaji follows a documented process involving internal approval, accounting records and relevant representatives. This includes JAKOA coordination, company representatives, Tok Batin, signed documentation and witnessed payments.
